INTRODUCTION :-

        The Karnataka State Khadi and Village Industries Board was established in 1957 as a Statutory and Autonomous Body for Development  of Khadi and Village Industries in the State of Karnataka, specially in Rural Areas as envisaged in article 43 of constitution of India. KVIBs were established all over India to implement the aims and objectives of  the KVIC. The KVIC is mother agency  of all KVIBs. All the Budget support from Govt of India were extended through KVIC and in turn the funds were allotted to KVIBs (That apart the State Govt funded schemes).

 

OBJECTIVE:-

 

      The main objective of KVIB is to give priority for Khadi and Village Industries in rural areas and to develop, provide assistance, generate employment opportunities in rural areas and improve the economic status of the rural artisans.

 

 

ACTIVITIES OF THE BOARD:

     The Activities of the Board are broadly classified into three sectors i.e.,

  1. Khadi Sector

  2. Village Industries Sector

  3. Marketing Sector
